Our psychotherapy services for young children are designed to support healthy emotional, social, and developmental growth. Early intervention helps children build strong foundations for lifelong well-being, strengthens parent–child relationships, and promotes positive behaviours across home, school, and community settings. Families will move through the following three stages:

1. Parent Intake Session
The process begins with a parent-only intake session. Parents are invited to share their concerns, observations of their child’s behaviours and emotional well-being in different settings, and details about the child’s developmental history. This information helps the clinician form a clear understanding of the child’s early experiences and current needs.

2. Clinical Assessment Session
The family then attends a clinical assessment session focused on:
• Understanding the child’s developmental and emotional needs
• Observing the parent–child interaction and relationship dynamics
• Identifying strengths and also challenges affecting the child’s daily functioning
Findings from this assessment guide the treatment plan and help establish meaningful, developmentally appropriate therapeutic goals. This assessment is not a diagnostic assessment and only applies to psychotherapy treatment.

3. Ongoing Therapy and Parent Support
After the assessment, the family participates in a combination of sessions tailored to the child’s needs:
• Child or family therapy sessions (parent–child together, or individual child sessions when appropriate)
• Parent coaching sessions that strengthen parenting skills, support emotional regulation and behaviour management, and deepen understanding of the child’s developmental needs
Parent involvement is a central part of the process. When caregivers learn new strategies and understand their child’s inner world, children receive more consistent support and make progress more effectively.

Psychotherapists utilizes approaches from play therapy, emotionally focused family therapy, and music therapy to encourage engagement, expression, and connection between family members. These approaches help children build confidence, resilience, and healthy developmental skills. Our goal is to meet every child where they are, nurture their growth, and empower families with the tools and understanding needed to support long-term well-being.

(Parent Intake Session)

(Clinical Assessment Session)

(Ongoing Therapy & Parent Support)
